- The German trio's next full-length will come out via Monkeytown in August.
Moderat will release their second album, II, on August 2nd.
Modeselektor and Apparat caused quite a bit of excitement when they revealed initial details of their next album, four years after their self-titled debut. There's still no word on what it'll sound like, but judging from their first go-round, it'll probably be a wide-ranging affair.
Here's what we do know: the artwork was designed by Pfadfinderei, and the LP itself consists of 11 brand new tracks. A deluxe CD version will include a special booklet and an extra tune ("Last Time"). There will also be two vinyl releases: the single-record version will host eight of II's songs, while the deluxe coloured double vinyl set will include all 11.
The trio apparently worked on the album for six months, a period wherein they "aged about ten years... not seeing any sunshine or daylight for a long time." The record will come through Modeselektor's own imprint Monkeytown.
