- 30 rare cuts from the Seattle ambient artist will see release in May.
Rvng Intl. is set to release its latest set of archival recordings in May, this time coming from K. Leimer.
Taking inspiration from Dada and surrealism, as well as the musical output of Neu!, Cluster and Brian Eno (who gets a shoutout in one of the track titles here), Leimer brought a unique musical sensibility to the Seattle-Olympia scene, best known for its indie rock, that's mostly gone unheralded. A Period Of Review (Original Recordings: 1975-1983) will feature music that wasn't released through Palace Of Lights, the label Leimer and his wife Dorothy Cross started in Seattle in 1979. (The press release points out that even the ambient artist's Palace Of Lights material is obscure enough to be deemed "unheard.") The compilation comprises 30 tracks in total, which will be spread out over a double-LP set, CD and digital release, with liner notes from Seattle writer David Segal.
