- Ostgut Ton are promising to "move away from the CD format" on their mix series, but they're keeping full details under wraps for now.
Ostgut Ton have announced that Ryan Elliott has mixed the sixth edition of their Panorama Bar series.
Elliott has tight connections to Osgut Ton: he's a resident at Panorama Bar / Berghain and is on the label's booking agency. He mixed the cassette-only 5 Years In 60 Minutes release back in 2010, and has put out two EPs on the label: 2011's Rocksteady and last year's Stepmode.
The label revealed that the Panorama Bar and Berghain mixes will "appear in a new form," starting with Elliot's mix, adding that they're "moving away from the CD format." The Ostgut CDs are one of the few surviving commercial mix series, alongside fabric/FabricLive and !K7's DJ-Kicks.
Further details are being kept under wraps for now, but the label added: "Ryan is already busy selecting music for his mix and we have already secured several exclusive tracks that will also be released on two Ostgut Ton 12-inches and will feature some of Ryan's favourite artists and several Panorama Bar regulars." Both the mix and the accompanying 12-inches are scheduled for release in July.
Ostgut Ton will release Panorama Bar 06 in July 2014.
