- New York dance vet Stuart Argabright returns to Blackest Ever Black with a new album due out next month.
The first Black Rain LP in 18 years will see release on Blackest Ever Black in August.
Black Rain is the project of Stuart Argabright, the New York-based artist who has also put out leftfield electronic records as Dominatrix, Ike Yard and Death Comet Crew. His latest LP, Dark Pool, is inspired by cyberpunk literature like K.W. Jeter's Edge Of Human and Paolo Bacigalupi's The Windup Girl.
In 2012 Blackest Ever Black released Now I’m Just A Number: Soundtracks 1994-95, a reissue compilation comprising Argabright's '90s soundtrack material. The reissue spurred Argabright into reviving Black Rain, and last year he returned with Protoplasm, an EP of live recordings. Dark Pool features studio versions of three of the tracks featured on Protoplasm. Blackest Ever Black says an expanded edition of Now I’m Just A Number: Soundtracks 1994-95 will see release in 2015.
