- The Polish producer's next full-length will arrive in June.
Polish artist Jacek Sienkiewicz has a new album on the way.
Drifting will come through Sienkiewicz's own Recognition Recordings. It's only his second full-length effort to be released on the label, after his debut LP (also titled Recognition) some fifteen years ago. While's he's put out plenty of other material on Recognition (like Ridges, a collaborative EP with Max Loderbauer that dropped a month ago), his other albums have come through Cocoon and, more recently, No. That label issued his ambient record Nomatter back in February, just a couple months after releasing a recording of a live ambient set he performed with label co-founder Atom TM.
Returning to more techno-focused production, Drifting is described as a "personal diary" where "constant drift and dislocation create imaginary landscapes of future unknown." It's notable, but perhaps not too surprising, given Sienkiewicz's oft-expansive style, that four of the ten tracks measure nine minutes or longer. The record is due out in June, and a remix of the title track from Ricardo Villalobos (who also processed that Ridges EP) is in the works, though further details for that one are still TBA.
