- The Brooklyn trio's debut album will drop later this month.
Boston experimental outfit Kathexis has announced plans for an album from Birds Of Prey.
Kathexis launched last year and has so far put out two records: label co-founder Ricardo Donoso's A Song For Echo film score, and Order & Disorder from Alex Menzies (AKA Alex Smoke), a soundtrack for the BBC documentary of the same name. The label's third transmission comes from Birds Of Prey, the Brooklyn trio of Grant Aaron (who runs the Mysteries Of The Deep podcast and party), Eric Holmes and Camille Altay.
Described as "an ever-evolving process of chaos, immediacy and necessity," Birds Of Prey compose and produce their music in live studio sessions. In April they self-released a digital EP, Nocturne, made up of outtakes from this eponymous LP for Kathexis. It'll come as a six-tracker on limited-edition vinyl with a full-color insert from Altay, as well as a digital version, which will feature remixes from Public Memory (of ERAAS), Patrick Russell and Chicago duo Talker. The digital album will drop first on July 31st, and the vinyl is due to ship in mid-August. In the meantime, you can try out the official video for "Black Vulture" below.
