- The legendary synthesiser is available again after 30 years.
The Minimoog Model D is back in production.
The original Model D was available in the '70s, and left a distinct signature across various styles of music, from Kraftwerk to Funkadelic and Dr. Dre. Now Moog has begun building a new version that will be available monthly in limited quantities. Moog claim to have recreated the exact placement of components and the through-hole design of the original, while the signal path and sound engine remain unchanged from the classic three-oscillator, lowpass filter design. New additions include MIDI integration, CV outs for velocity, gate and pitch, an analogue LFO with two waveforms and a "mixer overload" function, which Moog promises will create a more saturated sound than was possible on the original machine.
The Minimoog Model D is available now for $3,749.
