NYE 2009 clubbing guide: EU

- Still undecided about New Year's Eve? We round up the best events in Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
- We've already had a look at what's going on in Berlin, London and the rest of the UK, so now's the time to take a look at what's happening throughout the whole of Europe during this year's New Year's Eve celebrations. Techno and tech-house is the order of the day throughout Switzerland, with Remute headlining the Kugl club in St. Gallen, Gabriel Ananda, Marcel Janovsky and Joel Mull taking over Zurich's Rohstofflager, and Hardfloor playing live at Dietikon's town hall. New Year's Day clubbers will have to head to Kreins' Südpol Luzern for some action, with dOP, Nôze and Quintessentials signing Jagged all set to perform live. Tony Lionni will be bringing his deep but techy house vibes to Madrid's Mondo club on the 31st, while the following day sees Richie Hawtin, Gaiser, Sasha, Ellen Allien and Tiga head up the huge Space Of Sound festival at the city's Telefónica Arena. Over in Barcelona, there only seems to be one essential party, and that's at the new Wip space, which will host minimal techno and melodic tech-house from Sammy Dee and Kollektiv Turmstrasse respectively. Over in Paris, the ladies are ruling the roost at both Rex Club and Batofar, with Jennifer Cardini and Mlle Caro headlining the former, and Electric Indigo hosting the latter. The Glimmers will spend the turn of the century in the home country of Belgium, playing a New Year's Eve show at Antwerp's Petrol club before moving to Ghent's Charlatan the following day. Ghent is also home to the other two choice NYE bashes in Belgium, with Duke Dumont catering to the electro-house fans at Vooruit, while the ICC hosts a house music extravaganza with performances from Kerri Chandler and We Play House's Red D and San Soda. Rimini's Cocorico club seems to be the place to be for Italian minimal fans, as Richie Hawtin will be hosting a Minus showcase with the help of Gaiser, Fabrizio Maurizi and Pastaboys. Whether it's deep house, techno or electro-house, Amsterdam will surely have something for you on New Year's Eve. DJ Bone heads into town to show off his triple-deck skills at the Subject Detroit showcase at Heilige Zeug, but he isn't the only man in town doing so. Derrick May headlines The Powerzone alongside DJ Sneak, while Shinedoe takes the top spot at Studio 80 before heading over to the Berghain. Âme bring their smooth and melodic house style to Trouw, SebastiAn and Feadz showcase their scuzzy Ed Banger material at the Melkweg, while Switch go for a tough techno vibe at Schram Studios with the help of Function, Regis, Len Faki and Pär Grindvik. Clubbers looking for a sample of the city's local talent should head to Gashouder for San Proper, Melon, Anton Pieete, Bart Skils, 2000 and One and Daniel Sanchez, with Dave Clarke making an appearance as their international guest. It goes without saying that Berlin isn't the only city hosting hot parties in Germany over the course of the New Year. Over in Munich, Border Community are hosting a label showcase at the former's Alte Kongresshalle with Phil Kieran, Luke Abbott, Avus and of course James Holden, The Mole will bring his loopy live show to Harry Klein for the evening, while Clone boss Serge heads up the bill at Rote Sonne. Of course, Sven Vath's Cocoon club in Frankfurt will be holding its annual NYE extravaganza with the likes of Joris Voorn, Karotte and Motorcitysoul's C-Rock joining him behind the decks, but there are also a couple of other events of note in the city. Paul Ritch, Dominik Eulberg and Audio Werner are amongst the guests flexing their minimal and tech-house styles at U60311's bash, while those looking to taste a bit of the Berghain's magic without having to travel can head to Schauspiel to check Tama Sumo and nd_baumecker. Things are less busy in Hamburg, but Warp fans will be able to see Clark perform live at Hafenklang.
