  • As impossible as it may seem, the final night of 2010 is just one week away, and you know what means: a total glut of exceptional parties all across the country. In case you need some help sifting through all of your clubbing options, here's our round-up of what's on in the US this New Year's Eve. Per usual, most of New York's best options involve tracking down secret venues, but it's likely to be worth your trouble: Tevo Howard is headlining Galaktik, Morgan Geist will play for Let's Play House and Mister Saturday Night have Kyle Hall, Martyn and DJ Qu, plus free champagne all night (just make sure to get tickets in advance). Meanwhile, Holy Ghost!, House of House and Nancy Whang (of LCD Soundsystem) will all share the booth at DFA's party at Le Bain. Staying true to form, Blkmarket Membership win the endurance test with a 24-hour party in Manhattan at District 36. Highlights from the staggering bill include Scuba, Robag Wruhme, Pan-Pot, DJ Three, Alexi Delano, Nina Kraviz and leading Berghain resident Ben Klock. With this kind of marathon its hard to say what's more important: permitted re-entry or a 24-hour liquor license. Thankfully, they've got both. The forecast is just as rosy over on the other coast, and especially in Los Angeles. Sublevel are throwing two back-to-back parties on the 31st and the 1st, both with DJ Pierre, London's Mr C and local jock Doc Martin. If you're hellbent on attending the most massive party possible, we'd recommend Together As One at the LA Sports Arena, where Laidback Luke and Markus Schulz share the bill with Major Lazer, Pendulum, Ed Rush and Optical. For a more intimate party with a view (and a $0 entry fee to boot), check out Culprit's soiree with Droog and Tanner Ross & Sergio Santos, held as always on the Standard Hotel Rooftop. For the progressive fans out there, it's hard to go wrong with John Digweed all night at Avalon Hollywood. If you still haven't gotten your fix after that one, Bedrock will be throwing a New Years Day party at King King Club with Chloe Harris, Erphun and Kazell. Further north in San Francisco, the selection is a bit more esoteric. Icee Hot's party at Elbo Room is all about UK bass, with Hessle Audio's Ramadanman up against Night Slugs co-founder Bok Bok, plus resident DJ Ghosts on Tape. Disco is the sound du jour over at Public Works, where Kim Ann Foxman of Hercules & Love Affair will share the decks with Tim Sweeney, the voice and brains of Beats In Space. Anyone seeking out big room bangers should head to Ruby Skye for a set from Markus Schulz, who will presumably have just flown in from LA. New Years Day holds more underground sounds in store, with Rick Wade and Robag Wruhme (fresh from the Blkmarket Party in New York) at Cafe Cocomo. Then of course there's the rich vein of house and techno across the top of the Midwest: namely, in Chicago and Detroit. You can catch Traxx at The Works, joined by Kooky Scientist and Detroit-native Derek Plaslaiko. Over in the Windy City, you've got a warm blend of local and touring DJs. Smart Bar is keeping it in the family with all club residents on the lineup, plus local trio Orchard Lounge, who will have a full LED set-up in tow, according to Nate Manic (the club's own talent guru, who will also be closing out the night). For a more underground vibe, head over to No Affiliation's secretly-located shindig for a set from Daniel Bell. There's also the New Years Eve Masquerade, a loft party with Big Bully, Eric Johnston and a back-to-back set from Delano Smith and Norm Talley, two thirds of the Detroit Beatdown crew (who you may remember from their RA podcast earlier this year). Naturally, masks are highly encouraged. Needless to say, there are dozens more parties scattered around the country. Up in Washington state, Luke Hess and Lusine will headline Decibel's annual New Year's bash. Mash-up maestro Girl Talk will ring in the new year in Milwaukee, and Juan Maclean will man the decks at the Red Door in New Hampshire. You can go large in Las Vegas at the opening of a new Ibiza-style "nightclub and dayclub" called Marquee, where the 40-foot, LED equipped DJ booth will be helmed by Erick Morillo on the 31st and Kaskade on the 1st. If you're lucky enough to spend New Year's down in Puerto Rico, there's one party that's sure to get your blood flowing: Justice and Steve Aoki at Convention Center PR.
