Planet E celebrates Twenty F@#&ing Years

- The best of compilation kicks off a series of 20th anniversary releases.
- Planet E turns 20 this year, and Carl Craig will put out a series of special releases to mark the occasion, beginning with digital compilation due out next month. Entitled 20 F@#&ING Years - We Ain't Dead Yet, the package draws from all eras of Planet E, a label Craig says was born out of a "desire to control" his "musical destiny." Essentially a "best of" compilation, it features cuts from classic groups like Quadrant, Paperclip People and Innerzone Orchestra, as well as one previously unreleased tune: a C2 remix of Kenny Larkin's "You Are." We Ain't Dead Yet will also come out as a vinyl box set this summer, with a tracklist decided by fans in an online competition, details for which will be announced soon. The next phase of birthday celebrations will be a series of re-releases from Planet E's catalog. Each will be chosen by a different artist, who will include his own remix of the tune on the B-side. Participating acts include Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, Francois K, Mad Mike Banks, Dennis Ferrer, Kevin Saunderson and Loco Dice to name a few. Luciano kicks things off with Recloose's "Can't Take It." Meanwhile, Craig will be carrying out the first ever Planet E world tour. Label showcases will be held in New York (District 36), Berlin (Berghain) and London (Ewer Street Car Park), and a smattering of other parties and performances will take place around the world. Other artists along for the ride include Luciano, Paul Woolford and Kenny Larkin, and individual dates will feature Francois K, Radio Slave, Moritz von Oswald trio and more.
