- Cookies will host a free soiree for the krautrock outfit's new compilation.
This Thursday, Cookies will host a launch party for Popol Vuh: Revisted & Remixed (1970-1999).
Due out on Friday, the two-disc release collects classics from Popol Vuh's broad and influential discography, from early electronic pieces to musical scores for Herner Werzog's films. The second half features interpretations of their work by contemporary artists, such as Moritz von Oswald, Thomas Fehlmann, A Critical Mass (i.e. Dixon, Âme and Henrik Schwarz) and German DJ and producer Roland Appel. The launch party will follow a similar blueprint: Appel sets the stage with an all-kosmische DJ set, then moves into a live performance of Popol Vuh remixes. The party runs from 21:00 until midnight, and entry is free.
