The Arto Mwambe member will release his first solo album in April.
Phillip Lauer will release his first album, Phillips, in April on Running Back.
Lauer might be best known for his work with Christian Beißwenger as Arto Mwambe, but he's been releasing records on his own for much longer, with past EPs on Permanent Vacation and Live At Robert Johnson as well as his own label, Brontosaurus. He's been in a few other duos as well, including one with Running Back boss Gerd Janson called Tuff City Kids, which churned out an impressive number of remixes over the past two years. Phillips is an example of what Lauer and Running Back do best: upbeat house with a bit of modern disco flair.
You can hear the album's opening track in the NSFW clip below, which was done by Robert Johnson's go-to visual artist, Holger Wüst.
