The UK techno stalwart will make his way down south for the first time in a decade.
UK techno artist Luke Slater will return to Australia this December for the first time in ten years.
Slater has been something of a cult favourite since the early '90s, having grown to prominence through releases on iconic London label Peacefrog and NovaMute. After a hiatus throughout the first half of the '00s, he returned with the launch of his Mote-Evolver label and the revival of his Planetary Assault Systems project. Since then, Slater has produced two albums on Ostgut Ton, released records by artists like Marcel Fengler and Cari Lekebusch, and continued to DJ frequently in Europe.
Slater's first Australian show since January 2003 will be in at Melbourne's Brown Alley for Capacity 690 on December 28th, with a substantial support bill that includes Mike Callander and Craig McWhinney. From there he heads to Glenworth Valley in New South Wales for Peats Ridge, which runs from the 29th until January 1st and also features Theo Parrish and Krafty Kuts. Strange Fruit and Disconnected will host a New Year's Day bash at the Abercrombie Hotel, with an extensive local lineup that includes Defined By Rhythm and Trinity. His final port of call is a Let's Get Minimal party in Brisbane on January 5th which kicks off at 9:00 PM at Coniston Lane. Tickets to the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane shows can be purchased here on RA.
