- The Montreal-based electronic pop group recorded their latest album, due out this April, in Sweden with producer Dan Lissvik of Studio.
The latest album from Young Galaxy, Ultramarine, is set for release via Paper Bag Records this April.
The record marks the first time the electronic pop group has recorded an album away from their Montreal HQ. Ultramarine took them to Gothenberg in Sweden to record with Dan Lissvik of the Balearic-inclined duo Studio. As RA's Derek Miller explained in his review of their last album, Shapeshifting, Lissvik's production has become a critical component of Young Galaxy's sound. Where Shapeshifting was recorded in Montreal and then sent to Lissvik, Ultramarine is not packed with "mixing-board creations." Rather, band and producer worked through the music directly in Lissvik's studio.
