RA's guide to Sónar week 2013

- Our lowdown on the best parties taking place in Barcelona over the next five days.
- June is Barcelona's busiest party period: Sónar festival alone attracts approximately 90,000 revellers to the Spanish city, making it prime hunting ground for every national and international promoter worth their salt. With so much on offer, from traditional club events to raves in a monastery, we've decided to make things easier by presenting our top day-by-day picks, running from Wednesday 12th June through Sunday 16th. Wednesday The festival proper might not kick off until the Thursday, but that's no reason not to get stuck in early. Move D and Prosumer headline Radar '13, a collaboration between Electric Minds and Mono Cult at BeCool. Meanwhile, KiNK and Jay Shepheard join Catz 'N Dogz for a Pets Recordings rooftop party at Hotel Silken Rambla, while Josh Wink and Technasia spin at an Ovum showcase at Boulevard Culture Club. Thursday The sheer volume of events from Thursday onwards can be overwhelming, but a trip to the Hotel Silken Diagonal for RA by day featuring Bicep, Scuba and a secret guest is a good a place to start. Joy Orbison will join the Hessle Audio boys for a UK-centric party at Be Cool, while Mobilee host the first of four Fact Music Pool events, with Anja Schneider and Sebo K the main attractions. If techno is what you're after, then you can choose between Moritz von Oswald and Octave One at the Tresor showcase at Almogavers 86 or Juan Atkins and Nathan Fake for R&S's 30th anniversary at Parc Del Forum. Friday For those without a ticket to see Kraftwerk at Sónar, the Return party with Ricardo Villalobos, Zip and Thomas Melchior at Up and Down should offer some consolation. Elsewhere, the Innervisions crew take over El Monasterio in El Poble Espanyol, Carl Craig and Davide Squillace team up for a Planet E meets This and That event at Esferic BCN, Ben Klock and DVS1 head up a Klockworks party at Almogavers 86 and Michael Mayer and Matias Aguayo join forces for Kompakt Loves Cómeme at Nitsa, where Aguayo will debut his new live show. Saturday The apex of the week arrives with a flurry of unmissable parties. At El Poble Espanyol, DJ Koze and Matthew Dear turn out for Pampa at El Monasterio, while Dixon joins Jamie Jones and Loco Dice in the main square. At Parc Del Forum The Monkey Bar, 33/45 and Proyectual welcome Andrés, Steffi and Fred P, with Kerri Chandler and The Martinez Brothers turning out for renowned party planners Circo Loco at Cúpula Las Arenas. It's also the return of RA VS at Be Cool, where Donato Dozzy and Prins Thomas will play an exclusive back-to-back set. Sunday However bleary-eyed you may be come Sunday, there's no excuse not get yourself down to secretsundaze for their annual shindig at La Terrrazza. Chez Damier, Anthony Naples and Amir Alexander headline. Over at Jardins de Joan Brossa, dOP, Nôze and Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts will all perform as part of a Circus Company live showcase at Piknic Electronik, while David James AKA Trus'me invites Space Dimension Controller and Trevino for a 16-hour party at Parc Del Forum. The all-Canadian team of Mathew Jonson, The Mole and Hrdvision will then wrap up the Indigo Raw series at El Poble Espanyol with performances at IR Club BCN (formerly The One).
