- The Los Angeles producer will release his next album through Anticon in September.
Daedelus will release his next album, Drown Out, through Anticon on September 17th.
Though Alfred Darlington has released plenty of LPs in the past—this will be his 11th studio album—Drown Out will be the first for Anticon. It combines some of the elements Darlington has toyed with on previous records, along with a few new ones, with rap, rave, classical, jazz and juke all touched on. "This is the album that I needed to make," he says. "Everyone deals with death and departure in their own way. For me, it started to stew and manifest itself in sound. Almost ridiculous to try to express because of how jagged it feels, it's easier to face through music. There was a longing to express myself louder than the grief." For an insight into how the record will sound, you can stream album track "Paradiddle" over at Anticon's SoundCloud page.
