- The experimental composer's next album will see release in November.
German experimental producer Felix Kubin will release a new album called Zemsta Plutona in November.
Kubin, whose distinctive garb is described in the album's press release as "somewhere between Kim Jong-il and Captain Kirk," has been exploring music in one form or another for 30-odd years. (In 2012 Minimal Wave issued a retrospective called Teenage Tapes, compiling music he recorded between the ages of 11 and 16.) Arriving nine years on from his last solo album, Zemsta Plutona sees the producer entering new territory with the inclusion of "amplified acoustic instruments like drums, trumpet, trombone [and a] laundry rack," according to the press release.
Speaking recently to FACT, Kubin said the album contains "some pieces or some sound elements" that refer to the new wave music he dabbled in as a teenager. It will be jointly released through Hamburg's ZickZack label and Kubin's own Gagarin Records.
