- The Buzzin' Fly boss's second solo album (and first since 1983) is due out in April.
Ben Watt has a new solo album on the way called Hendra.
The British DJ, Buzzin' Fly boss, Everything But The Girl member and serial collaborator has certainly kept busy over his long career. Surprisingly, though, Hendra is Watt's first solo full-length since 1983. He describes the album, which he worked on with producer Ewan Pearson and ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, as "simply a folk-rock record in an electronic age," with "languid folk, distorted rock and fizzing electronics" forging the vibe. The record, which is set for April release through a new label he's starting called Unmade Road, features quite a big special guest: David Gilmour from Pink Floyd lends slide guitar and backing vocals to "The Levels." The title cut is streaming below, via Watt's SoundCloud.
