The two radio jocks will spin for The Lift in December.
LA party The Lift will host Gilles Peterson and Tim Sweeney at the Globe Theater on December 5th.
The show is being billed as a "Forward Frequencies Edition," the idea being to focus on selectors who have made an impact over the radio airwaves. Peterson, of course, is a longtime BBC Radio Six DJ with a consistent knack for digging up jazzy, soulful grooves and exposing new artists of a similar remit. RA's Stephen Titmus had Peterson walk him through some personal classics for a Playing Favorites feature last year.
Tim Sweeney's Tuesday night WNYU/web broadcast Beats In Space turned 15 last year. During that time, Sweeney started a label of the same name and has grown increasingly busy as a touring DJ. In conjunction with last year's anniversary celebration, RA talked to Sweeney about his life in radio. Check out that feature here.
