The Sydney label will celebrate their anniversary this Saturday at The Chippendale Hotel.
Plastic World will mark their second birthday with a Sydney party and the announcement of their first compilation.
Since its inception in 2013, the label run by James McInnes and Astral People's Vic Edirisinghe has showcased homegrown electronic acts like Tuff Sherm, Retiree, Hugo Frederick and GL over a series of ten 12-inch releases. Their next project, a compilation to be released digitally and as a double-vinyl pack in late April, will feature a collection of fresh tracks from 16 artists including Dreems, Frederick and Sam Weston from Alba. As McInnes explains, the release will showcase "all the cracking music coming out of Australia at the moment. Some are side projects from bands who've released records in the past and others are friends and new faces who reached out to us over the last two years."
Their second anniversary celebration happens on January 16th at Sydney's Chippendale Hotel where the 13-strong lineup features label friends and family like Andras Fox, Silent Jay & Jace XL, Thomas William and Cassius Select playing across two floors from 2 PM.
