- The South African producers' surprise EP came out today on True Panther Sounds.
True Panther Sounds released DJ Spoko and DJ Mujava's collaborative EP, I.M.I., on August 12th.
The two producers met in the Atteridgeville township outside of Pretoria, an hour north of Johannesburg. At the time DJ Spoko was mentoring Mujava in studio production and engineering, and they worked together on the 2008 anthem "Township Funk." Mujava disappeared from the public eye after that single—"taking time to battle personal demons," the label says—while Spoko has stayed active with EPs for True Panther and Lit City Trax. This new one is the first collection of tracks bearing Mujava's name since 2010, and features vocals from Atteridgeville artists Doggy Fresh and MK.
