  • Studio 338 has released a statement about its plans to rebuild after this month's fire. A huge blaze ripped through the Greenwich nightclub on August 8th, taking the life of Studio 338 staff member Tomas Ceidukas. Last night the venue issued a statement with two key updates: it will reopen Studio 338 in the same Greenwich spot, and the Studio 338 creative team will also open a new club somewhere in East London. It was also revealed that a fundraising drive for Ceidukas's family had raised nearly £10,000. Here's the statement in full:
"So obviously the last few weeks have been very hard. However we have tried to remain positive and make our plans quickly on how we can get you all back on the dance floor as soon as possible. This week we will announce big news on a couple of key issues: - The re-opening of Studio 338 and how you all can get involved to make that happen sooner - A brand new Club project in East London from our team here at 338 Right now London needs us all to fight for the right to party and to support and love each other in the face of adversity. We hope to play a big part in bringing the city's nightlife back to being one of the very best in the world. Besides that we miss you lot and want to be back together ASAP! In the meantime we would like to thank you all for your support of the fundraising drive for Tomas. You managed to donate £9,636 (almost 200% of target) which we are pleased to say we will match. This will really help to take some of the pressure from his family at this difficult time. Finally, big love to Sankeys Ibiza and KOKO London for putting together this amazing show which will contribute towards both the re-opening of our Terrace and also further to the Tomas fund."
