A new two-part vinyl compilation, inspired by the 2020 Berlin exhibit, No Photos On The Dance Floor! Berlin 1989-Today, is in the works.
Launched last fall, No Photos documented the 30-year history of the Berlin club scene, beginning at the fall of the Berlin wall. Arranged by exhibit co-curator Heiko Hoffmann, the compilation will land via UK label Above Board Projects on June 25th.
The first part of the record highlights music made between 1992 and 2006, featuring essential tracks from Alec Empire, Mijk van Dijk's 9-10-Boy alias and Moritz von Oswald's and Mark Ernestus's Maurizio project.
The latter half will home in on music created between 2007 and the present, including a Marcel Dettmann remix of Ellen Allien (pictured), as well as tracks from Avalon Emerson and Ben Klock as Klockworks.
The vinyl release comes complete with images from Berlin photographers George Nebieridze and Wolfgang Tillmans. A digital album will also accompany the physical release, including additional tracks from Ricardo Villalobos, Rødhad and Efdemin.
