  • The list of nominees for this year's Mercury Prize has been announced. Floating Points (pictured), Laura Mvula, Arlo Parks and SAULT are among the shortlisted acts, as well as grime veteran Ghetts and synth-pop artist Hannah Peel. British and Irish artists (or residents), who released albums between July 18th, 2020, and July 16th, 2021, were eligible. Ten of the 12 shortlisted artists are first-time nominees, Mvula having been nominated twice before and Wolf Alice having won the award in 2018. The Awards Show will take place on September 9th, when 2021's winner will be announced.
