  • Yoyaku, the Paris-based label, record shop and distributor, has launched a digital store specialising in electronic music. AZE went live yesterday, December 9th, with more than 4000 tracks curated by the Yoyaku team. The store, which was built over the past year, will "import around 30 new labels per month with selections from their catalogues," said founder Benjamin Belaga. "We also plan to make links between our physical and digital store," he added, "with bundles of both formats to initiate digital buyers to begin a record collection." The idea was sparked after the Yoyaku team began receiving more and more requests for digital releases. Previously distributing mostly vinyl-only labels, they wanted to cater to "a larger audience, and not just to a narrowed elite," Belaga said. He continued: "But the question was how to monitor our presence online? We didn't identify ourselves in the existing digital platforms. We also realized there isn't any French digital store representative of our scene, and as a distributor and record store being in contact with more than 2000 different record labels, we thought we might be in a good position to accomplish this."
