- Out in February, the quadruple-LP also features the US artist's debut album.
Laraaji is releasing a new quadruple-LP box set featuring some of his earliest recordings.
Out February 10th through Numero Group, Segue To Infinity combines the New Age artist's 1978 debut album, Celestial Vibration, with three discs of early, unreleased material, all produced around the same time.
Acetates of the previously unheard music were discovered and purchased on eBay by an American student and avid record collector called Jake Fischer. They ended up on the online marketplace in 2021 after another seller saw them at a flea market. Fischer recognised Laraaji's birth name, Edward Larry Gordon, and made the connection.
The box set also includes never-before-seen photos of Laraaji and liner notes by Numero Group A&R Douglas Mcgowan and Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid, who met Laraaji in New York in the '70s.
All the music on Segue To Infinity is from the period before Laraaji was famously discovered by Brian Eno while performing in New York's Washington Square Park.
Listen to Celestial Vibration.
