Four club nights and two labels come together next month for Wax:On live, a new festival featuring sixty acts on the ground of Lotherton Hall in Leeds.
The action happens across six arenas. Host club night Wax:On's own tent is a indie-heavy affair headlined by Primal Scream, Hercules & Love Affair and Late of the Pier. Indie'n'dance label Wall of Sound taps both its rock (The Infadels, Reverend and The Makers) and dance (Andrew Weatherall, X-Press 2) arms while deebee powerhouse Hospital Records shows off its best (Shy FX, London Elektricity, Logistics) together with top names in dubstep (Skream, Plastician) in its Hospitality Arena.
Matthew Herbert headlines Manchester night Naive Melody's tent, which also has deep house (Âme, Dixon), Italo (I-F) and disco (Tim Sweeney) on the bill while fellow Leeds partystarters Technique have booked some classy tastemakers (Ivan Smagghe, Ryan Elliott) plus big names in minimal (Steve Bug) and techno (Derrick May, Stacey Pullen). Last but not least Adventures in the Beetroot Field have a blog-house friendly bill: Herve & Sinden, Crookers, Brodinski et al. Watch out for the deer.
