- The outdoor live performance aspect of the Sydney Festival will feature disco, dub and more.
- Beck's Festival Bar has announced the initial set of headliners for this year's Sydney Festival. Spread over the course of three weekends in January, the Hyde Park Barracks will be graced by the likes of New York disco adherents Holy Ghost!, Portugal's finest kuduro poppers Buraka Som Sistema, Kevin Martin's Bug project, mash-up king Z-Trip and many, many more. The festival, which takes places from January 10th to the 31st, brings in some of the world's finest artists in the world of theatre, music, dance and film. The 2009 edition will mark the 23rd year that the Festival Bar and its outdoor music has been part of the event.
