- Frenchman Jéremy Guindo-Zegiestowski mixes techno with myriad other influences—particularly the more frantic end of UK dance music—but as time has passed he's begun to straighten out those broken bits. His latest EP for 50 Weapons, his first of 2014, sees him taking the same turn towards straight-up house music as the Parisian crew ClekClekBoom, a label he's become increasingly associated with. The results are hard to argue with, even if they trade inventiveness for slick execution.
"Feel Like This" is brisk yet nailed down with heavy metallic percussion. The careful panning lends it a three-dimensional feel, although that's pretty much the only notable thing about it—groovy but begging to have its gaps filled in with another track over the top, which would make it dynamite. "Onto This" is better than its counterpart, primarily because of a slippery synth riff that sounds like it's skating on an oil slick between the bars. The walloping kick drums have the same impact of previous Bambounou work, but now they're sexier and slinkier.
