- Big melodies for big moments in the club.
- Mathew Jonson and Âme's Frank Wiedemann are decades into their respective careers, but it was only last year that we discovered they were a great musical match. The duo, both known for lush synth tracks, played a live jam session at an Innervisions party in Barcelona in 2018, rocking epic melodies over a four-on-the-floor thump while hunched over a table full of hardware for more than an hour.
"Transmoderna," their first official track together, arrives just over a year since that Barcelona appearance. As you might expect from these artists, the focus is on melody. There's always a lot happening, as different melodic lines (chords, squiggles, pads) are overlaid with a propulsive thump. Likely thanks to Jonson, it's techier than most of what Innervisions releases, but the pair still find room for a two-minute breakdown. Both acts are known for epic dance floor moments, and "Transmoderna" should provide many more.
