- The debut release from NP, the duo of Beirut-based producers Jad Atoui and Anthony Sahyoun, is a gossamer-coated work of improvised modular experimentations. Absent of time signatures, the ambient LP explores their home country's recent economic and political collapse through what they call a "non-deterministic" lens. In a nod to Lebanon's currency crash, "Coins With Memory" teems with tragedy. Pairing pitter-patter drops with sparkling bleeps, its slow pace and haunting textures offer a glimpse of the immense emotional weight that Beirut's residents must carry following last year's devastating explosion and the ongoing political paralysis.
