- Nashville ambient.
- There are few things more soothing than the sound of rushing water. On "Goldenrods," Rich Ruth records, then pours, these sounds into the mix with the sole intention of making you feel as zen as he did while making the track. He says creating the song, which was recorded in the early months of the pandemic, helped him "cope with the collective sense of uncertainty and solitude of the time." The Nashville native takes a slice of the present and stretches it out for miles. "Goldenrods" is essentially a repeating loop of searching keys, glimmering synths and subtle micro adjustments. It doesn't ever feel repetitive. Instead, the comfort of knowing what comes next is an antidote in troubled times.
