Amaliah - Borne Fruits 001

  • The first Borne Fruits release is a juicy one.

  • If you listen to any of Amaliah's Borne Fruits radio shows, you'll get an idea of her taste for all things pacey and pumping. In a typical set, she'll effortlessly blend trance into 2-step, or rolling tech house into jungle, and this wandering muse translates to her productions, too. On her new label (called Borne Fruits, of course), Amaliah's debut EP cherry-picks parts from her favourite genres into a pair of modern dance floor bombs. "Euphorique" is the easy standout with its chilling, trance-baiting harps and punchy tech house groove (and the huge payoff at the drop when those rave stabs come in). "Won't Stop" is for more heads-down moments, with shuffling hi-hats laid over robust 909 kicks. Amaliah only launched Borne Fruits in 2019, first as a party and collective, and 2021 is looking like a milestone year for her—starting the label, making her fabric debut and more. Her effervescent selections, vibrant, bouncy and a little tough, have made for a winning cocktail of influences that she bottles on Borne Fruits 001, a suitably juicy EP from a very promising producer.
