- Mullingar, Ireland-based DJ and producer Offtrack makes the kind of groovy techno that today's warm-up DJs should take note of: stripped-back with a splash of stomp, and pitched between 135 and 145 BPM. Offtrack's debut LP CSR 001, via his label Circuit Structure Records, burbles with bleepy synth lines and muscular drums, but the tune "Optimism" stands out the most on the eight-track collection. With fizzy hi-hats, snatches of indecipherable vocals, a hooky melody and a buzzing atmosphere, it's a track that would lure in passers-by in a vast outdoor festival, making it another go-to tool in a discography full of them. "Optimism" a shining example of where a less-is-more approach works wonders.
